What exactly is pop art?

What exactly is modernism, do all movements such as cubism, abstract exprsm. & pop art just fall under it?

• also how does roy litchenstein fit into modernism without only referring to pop art, i have an essay and can only seem to use picasso referring to cubism or is this ok

  I finishe an OU course a couple of years ago , be very carefull with the Issm school it is vaery varied , it will take you a couple of years to get through it , Generally one was a reaction to another that was being touted just before it and ofcourse all atr is political so you would get the fascists (purists ) against the Da Daist ( social anarchists )and so on and so forth You can follow the family tree from about 1908 to 1990 Good luck and I'm sure youlll enjoy it !!!!!!
