Hey... someone tell me how to cook a world class gourmet meal. Some things, like your questions, are not simple and fast to answer. You are wanting a basic course in photography. Here is an ideal book that would be of tremendous help and value to you. Of course, you have to really want to learn instead of thinking you can get quick, easy answers here that will make it all understandable for you. http://www.amazon.com/BetterPhoto-Basics-Absolute-Beginners-Taking/dp/081740502X/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1279567421&sr=1-3 steve

Unfortunately, it *does* require a VERY long answer...but I'll give you the short version. ISO is how sensitve your sensor is to light. The flash settings are how the flash compares to the f-stop. Aperture is the ratio of the lens focal length to the opening. Shutter speed is from 8 seconds to 1/2000 of a second. With that said....you should go check ou the book "Understanding Exposure." It's fairly inexpensive, and the entire book is dedicated to that very topic.
