What are good cafe's and restaurants to go to in Paris?

  There are thousands of restaurants in Paris, varying from very, very expensive, to quite reasonable. The best way is to find your own because a). we don't know what your "expensive" is and b). we don't know what sort of food you like. One of the delights of Paris is finding your own place to eat. All restaurants have to show their menus and prices outside so you can see what's on offer at what cost. Start looking at about 7.00 pm (for an evening meal) and look up the more modest streets.Find one that has the sort of food you like and prices you can afford and is half full. If others use it - it's probably OK! We recently stayed on the Boulevard Montparnasse and found a brilliant fish restaurant about 200 metres away from our hotel. But beware, even coffee can be really expensive. Sitting at a cafe on the Champs Elysees can be very sexy but your coffee is likely to cost up to £8.00 a cup - seriously!!
