I bought a new dvd player that has hdmi and component output but my older tv needs s-video input. What now?
-
Are there cables available that convert hdmi output to s-video? Are there component cables that convert to s-video? The tv works great so I'm ont ready to ditch it yet.

Answer:
If your TV has s-video in, then it would have Composite (Yellow RCA) video in. Please, don't confuse Composite with Component. Use a combination cable with White/Red/Yellow RCA for Audio/Video hookup from your DVD Player to your TV.

You mean your player has no composite video out (yellow)? There are composite to s-video converters but no component or HDMI to s-video; at least none cheaper than buying a DVD player with s-video out.
