Is this good to say in the email for my job application?

What should I say in response to a job application "first cut" email that asks whether a salary range the top end of which is 27% below my current salary is acceptable?

• My current job pays well, but the organizational culture is stagnant, and as an INTJ I feel suffocated because I can't get stuff done. The organization I am applying for is dynamic and new, but they are offering a salary which corresponds to a much more junior level of skills than mine.

• Answer:

  Well, first question: Can you live on 27% less? If you can't or don't want to, then don't take the job, especially since you already have a job. While money is not everything, inability to meet your financial obligations or to live the way you want to live is not going to help you do well at this job.   If you can live with the cut, then the next question is: Will the next job offer you the things that you want out of your career, like better hours,more responsibility that will build your resume, more benefits like more time off, medical, pension, etc? Is this a company you want to work for?   If you thik you can make it work, and you want out really badly, then go ahead and try. Your salary will increase over time, so it might be worth it to you to take the lower salary for a while to do what you want to do. But if you aren't sure you can do it, then wait for the next opportunity.
