  My two daughters and I have cable service, while my son had dish network. Although my daughters and I all have different cable service, we have not had problems during bad weather. When my son was stationed in the US, he did have problems with reception during bad weather. When there was a problem with any of the cable services, customer service was always considerate and prompt on sending technicians to resolve the problem(s). Based on the above, I would say cable service, if available, is better than dish network.
