Do I have to have the Internet on my phone to watch tv?

Can I watch videos/movies from the internet on my Droid X phone to the tv ?

What do I need if I can do this? Will the Blockbuster app let me watch movies from phone to the tv? Can I watch sports videos and other like this too?

I sit (Or Stand) corrected I did more research and found that the newer Droids do connect to the TV even an HDTV using a Mini-HDMI cable.
