How can I transfer video from my DVR to my computer?

    The other answers are correct that you can play and record the video, but there are other ways of doing this as well. First thing to do is check the back of your DVR and see if there is a Firewire, USB, or ethernet port on the back of it. You may have the option of transferring it directly to your PC, or an external USB/Firewire hard drive. Without knowing the model of your DVR, it wouldn't be possible to give a more specific answer.

It is possible, you would likely have to record the audio and video output and do what you want with it. I believe some DVR models have ethernet ports, you might be able to plug it into a router and access it.
