Can I use dual monitors?

Can I use a VGA video splitter to use dual (or more) monitors?

  • My computer has integrated graphics but I want to connect 4 monitors to it but each monitor displays different things. For example, I want to play a movie on one and also have a word ...show more

  • Answer:

No, in order to have different things on each monitor you need to have two or more outs from the graphics card it self. Having a splitter will simply split the signal for the same screen, which means each screen will display the same thing.

You need a new graphics card. Even if your Y Cable could do it there is no way an integrated graphics card would be able to support 4 monitors. I think for 4 screens you will need quite an expensive card. http://www.Multi-Monitors.com/product_p/vc-fmv-2400.htm That might do it....
