How to build a gaming desktop computer?

I've decided to build my own gaming desktop computer. Any sugestions on Processor and mother board?

    Why build when for the cost of a static mat and strap, most boutique companies will build for you. Some of us still use clean rooms :) As for choices: Asus is the undisputed king of the motherboards. Intel is currently dominating the industry with the massive FSB and cache on their procs, but the procs and motherboards are VERY expensive compared to AMD. For single application performance, its may be better bang for the buck to go AMD depending on your budget.

i would suggest getting an AMD processor for any use at all because they are better at multitasking, use less power- therefore stay cooler, and perform much better than Intel processors. As for motherboards, you don't want to get the cheapest ones because they are usually very slow and would ruin your gaming computer in the sense of making it LAG. Other things you want would be Nvidia graphics card, powerful fans in you towercase, probably a nice screen, large hard drive, and at least 2 gigabytes of ram at least 800 speed.
