Foreign exchange to Italy or France?

I would say France since you know a little bit of French. You don't want to feel completely lost in Italy not knowing Italian. I have been to both countries, they are both very gorgeous. If you're interested in architecture, diversity of cultures, I would go with France. Venice, Italy smells bad to my opinion too. But the center of the Catholic Church, Rome, is gorgeous :)
