Does anyone know how to fix a blackberry curve that says JVM Error 517?

My blackberry is saying this with just a blank white screen,and this phone was given to me so i don't have the media package. Anyone got any ideas?

that error means your software is corrupt and the normal fix is to connect to pc and the blackberry desktop and reinstall your phones os. go to the blackberry forums for all details. but also try a hard reboot, remove battery with phone on and replace. it has been known to work, and worth a try.
