    If they are saved to your external hardrive just connect your external hardrive to your new laptop. Just in case that does not work, you still have your old laptop, and you have a Wireless connection at your house do this: Connect both laptops to the internet using a wireless connection Create a Wireless Network Enable file sharing on this network Make sure your music files and whatever else you wanted on your new computer are shareable Drag and drop your music in to your new computers folder

save them in some removable disk like as CD/DVD or pen drive........and then copy them in new computer !!

itunes blocks this function since itunes is the tool with one way to transfer files from itune to ipod. you must utilize other tools to achieve that. There're couple of tools for transferring the files between ipod and computer (for backup)depends on your demands, e.g transfer only songs/videos, transfer photos etc. You can have a look of below review site, hope it useful.

Im sorry but there is no real legal way to transfer ur old songs unless u download mojo its a music sharing website make 2 accounts one on ur new laptop and one on ur old have them both signed in friend each other then download away!! hope i could help =D ( If you have bought ur songs or for certin songs u cant download it) sorry they made it hard for u to transfer. link to mojo download is in source.

All my songs are saved on my External Hard drive, so the songs short-cuts should be the same when i connect the hard drive to my new laptop, right? YES download mediawidget its a trial but to transfer all the songs you gotta do 10 songs at a time until you finish transfering the songs to itunes. connect your ipod to pc what you have to do is select a gener, on mideawidget then highlight 10 songs click add to itunes and let it do the work remember you have to highlight 10 songs at a time and add to itunes and thats it voila! hope it helps i have done it myself.
