What is the differnce between current gpa and cumulative gpa?
-
On my report card it says my Current GPA is 3.25 and my Cumulative GPA is 2.91. What's the difference and are these good grades or are they poor?

Answer:
Kelly, I think it is wrong of you to say that a 2.91 is terrible. I am a stay at home mother and I have a 2.89 GPA. People have lives and children to take of, some people just don't have time to sit at home all day with their nose in their books. Your attitude toward people who have learning disabilities is just appalling to me, where do you get off thinking you are better then other people. Grow up and think before you open your snotty mouth.

dont listen to him, a 2.91 is not that bad, its about a b- average...god way to be rude, and yes 3.25 is about a b+ so ur not doing bad, try hard to get that up toa 3.0 though u can have many more scholarships with a 3.0 and current is the grades uve had that grading period (9 weeks or 18 weeks) cumulative is all the grades uve recieved in highschool

Like Kelly said Current GPA is the individual semester, Cumulative GPA overall GPA for every semester. A 2.91 is a C+/B-, and is considered average perfomance level at my school (Fordham), but it is a terrible GPA and you will be unable to get into nearly any competitive graduate school. Good Luck

Your current gpa is the gpa earned for the classes you've taken this semster while the cumulative gpa is the classes you've taken overall. 3.25 is just okay and 2.91 is just TERRIBLE! There should be no reason for anyone to have a gpa lower than 3.49(3.5 rounded) unless of course one has a learning disability that keeps them from being able to absorb the knowledge of the subject they are being graded on. Also, you should shoot for no more than a 3.75 per current semester. Overall, I would say you need to get to work ASAP;)
