Abandoned and or haunted places in the Philly, PA area?

Right in Philly itself is Eastern State Penitentiary, which I heard is reputed to have some resident ghosts. It is also a wonderfully eerie, very photogenic place to visit. Tours are self-guided and you can take as long as you like, which is great for composing good photos. I loved it! Though it doesn't quite meet your "no family attractions" criteria, the haunted house run by Midnight Productions up in Bucks County is sensational. It is far better than anything Disney produced. Now that the "haunting" season is over, the producers might be amiable to giving you a tour. The attention to detail is quite incredible. Google "Midnight Productions haunted house" and you should be able to find their website and contact info.
