I need a good car sound system.

What all do i need for a good car sound system? Under$1,000 I dont know anything about stereos.?

• All I`m looking to do is just maybe buy a subwofer, maybe 2 speakers. Do i need an amp? Do i need a new CD deck or can i keep my stock stereo and just by new speakers? Please help me ...show more

  OK here goes, EBAY is a happy place. I would suggest getting a Pioneer, Kenwood head unit with a 3-5 volt preout $130, then new door/rear speakers depending on the brand both sets for $100, then a nice 5 channel amplifier I would definatly suggest the Kicker 700.5, (my wife has this) this goes for around $210-$230, the best bang for your buck for a sub would be a Kicker L5 10" or 12" BELIEVE ME 1 is all you need, be sure you get the 4 ohm model for this amp, you can get these in the box made for the sub for $175, Then all thats left is your wiring, which also I would get a 4-channel amp kit Kicker makes this as well and sells for $70. This is all you will ned to totally redo your whole system and it will sound great too. All together this is $705!!! now I will give you Circuit City prices, head unit $200, Door speakers $300, Kicker amp $579, Kicker sub in box $400, dual amp kit $300 the price at circuit city would be close to $1800, thats a saving of over $1000!!!!
