Carnival breeze vs rccl allure of the seas?

  • Ok so in 2013 i am planning to go on a cruise out of Florida 7 days or longer and I narrowed my search to an 8 day on the brand new carnival breeze and a 7 day on the allure of the ...show more

  • Answer:

The allure of the seas is amazing and there is so much to do! It is huge and there is pretty much everything you can think of, plus the food is great. Royal caribbean is actually a great cruise line and I have had nothing but positive experiences when going on their ships. I haven't been on the carnival breeze, but the allure of the seas is definitely an awesome ship!

The Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas is a fantastic ship. You need to experience other cruise lines and don’t just stay with Carnival. Don’t get me wrong Carnival is a great line; but I have been on all of the major cruise lines, and I would recommend you try something new and different.

I have cruised on the Oasis, the Allure's twin sister ship, and will be cruising on the Allure later this year. Believe me, as an experienced cruiser, once you cruise on Allure (or Oasis) you'll not want to cruise on any other ship. Yes the ship is big and hold a lot of passengers but it does NOT feel any bigger than any other ship. that's because it's so big that people are spread all around the ship doing things. There are no long lines for activities. There are many shows to see, and the most activities on board the ship than you'll find on any other ship, including the Carnival Breeze. I can understand you wanting to stick with Carnival for the sake of your frequent cruiser club membership. But you will enjoy Allure and in no way be disappointed. It does feel like any other cruise ship as far as the cruising is concerned.

Not sure who is telling you RCCL isnt so great. I have been on both and think RCCL is WAY better than Carnival. After cruising on RCCL and then going back to Carnival, it was a HUGE dissapointment for me. I dont think I will ever do another Carnival cruise again.

It truly depends on what you want. Royal Caribbean has created a sort of land resort at sea- their ships are stunning to look at, but you may feel like you are not actually on a cruise- it is a very different sort of experience, and for some, the ship may just be too darn big. Carnival- they have taken the ''cruise'' experience and let it evolve into what it is today. On the Breeze you'll have some great innovations and comforts, but the experience will still be, fundamentally, that unique to a cruise, one you cannot get at your local mall or theatre. Carnival voyages, as are those of Royal Caribbean, are a lot of fun, and you can't go wrong with your choice. My vote would be Carnival though, because at 137,000 GRT the ship is still HUGE, about four times the size of the Titanic, yet Carnival has been truer to what a cruise is than Royal Caribbean. Also, Carnival voyages are cheaper, meaning you will be able to spend more on extras, like exciting shore tours or things onboard. Actually, am surprised that Allure is cheaper by $400- but remember, you'll be spending a lot more onboard on Allure than you will on the Breeze. Plus, this being your tenth CCL cruise, to me its a no-brainer. So yes, my vote goes to the Breeze. Also, in my experience, the food on Carnival has consistently been better than that on the Royal Caribbean ships.

Both of those ships are behemoths. If that's your thing, go for it. Personally, I'd never sail on such a large ship. Family members went on the Allure's twin, Oasis, and said it was annoying to constantly have to wait in long lines for everything, such as the special features. They stayed on board for two of the three ports and said the ship was much better at those times. Carnival and RC are pretty equal, although Carnival is better in food and service overall. Carnival is probably a better value. Of course, you have to be able to tolerate the over-the-top decor and the generally "noisy" atmosphere on Carnival.
