Your age might be the problem. With the right attitude and a good portfolio, the missing work experience will not hold you back in this case (plus you do make pictures all the time,so they will see that you can do that) Try transocean photo. Most cruise lines have concessions in the photoshop. If you speak Spanish, try pullmantur cruises. If you speak anything else in addition to English, try any European cruise line. That might be the trick. You can also try Disney cruises.

If you don't mind going to Australia, P&O Australia hires from age 18. Most other lines will hire from age 20 (they just mark your ID so you can't buy alcohol until you're 21!). Generally cruise lines require two years of experience particularly in sales, but if you can show a decent portfolio they may give you a chance. Your basic salary is topped up by bonuses for selling the pictures you take onboard, so being a good salesperson is essential! Start with P&O, but also look at the big lines such as Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Princess. Photographers are generally not hired by the cruise line themselves, but by a concessionaire. The two largest at the moment are Image (image.com) and TransOcean (transoceanphotos.com).

They MIGHT hire you at 19.. worth a shot. Build your resume as much as you can then send it in to every company you are interested in (Royal Caribbean, Carnival, NCL, Holland America, Costa, Princess, P&O etc.....). Good Luck

If your age doesn't get you, your lack of real-world experience will. For most if not all cruise line jobs, you have to have at least 2 years experience in the position you're applying for. Cruise line photographers are often supplied to the ship by a vendor/concessionaire like the Image Group (http://www.image.com), but not always.
