Jobs in conservation?

Conservation biologists example of jobs please?

  • conservation biologists i was wondering if you could tell me what jobs you have had

  • Answer:

Con. Biologists tend to focus on endangered species, a little law & policy, and evaluating management practices, specifically through adaptive management. They sample and survey flora and fauna, come up with and implement management practices and recommendations. It tends to be under-appreciated by the general public's socio-political opinion (same story with most careers related to the outdoors). Most jobs are federal (forest service, fish & wildlife service, ACOE). Con. Bio isn't my main focus (Restoration Ecology), but I've done my fair share on the side, monitoring populations of Delmarva Fox Squirrels, Kirtland's Warblers, and Florida Panthers, spending a summer doing nothing but NEPA, mapping the genetics of Eastern Fox Snakes and PA Black Bears, etc. It's fun, exciting, and interesting work.
