What are any good singing exercises?

What are some good voice exercises to hit high notes in singing?

  • any good websites

  • Answer:

I don't know about websites, but arpeggios are great. Start going 1-3-5-3-1(i.e. C-E-G-E-D) and then work up to going 1-3-5-8-5-3-1(C-E-G-C-G-E-D). Do that in ascending and descending scales. It stretches your range out and helps solidify intervals. Good luck!

don't know any web sites either. I choose not to rely on them but rather on the presence of another living being ( a teacher) who can give immediate feedback, tailored to my needs. the thing to remember about exercising the high register is to do it slowly and easily. If you start forcing or shoving at your voice, your are going to develop a lot of incorrect and detrimental tenison. Most of us never speak in our head voices, unless we are doing cartoon-like voices. Therefore, we are very unused to the way the head voice should feel when we do it properly. ( OK, Robin Williams is the exception to the rule, but that's why he's so great) Having a teacher will give you the feedback you need to know ( since we don't hear ourselves the way other people do) about whether the sound is coming out of you easily. Start by asking around in your chorus ( school or church) if anyone can recommend you a singing teacher. Check with the chorus director- they might have some tips or leads for you as well. It's extremely difficult, if not impossible, to train oneself vocally, even in this day of electronic feedback. We still need another set of ears to help us figure out how to do it right. Grant yourself the favor of doing it right, and have lessons. Best wishes and keep on singing

a really good way to extend is to do scales and long tones to strengthen your vocal cords, and a really good excercise to use is a mix between an arpeggio and a scale it goes 1-3-5-8-7-8-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 it works wonderfully for a warm up as well.... i went from being an alto with a 2.5 octave range on being able to comforably sing to about a high f-g range and now i can comfortably sing to a high c best of luck
