    You can make papier-mache items of famous firework types.... Most fireworks items are red, so you could make papier-mache related "bottle rockets", "firecrackers", "roman candles", etc....painted in red. You can add patriotic songs in the background for your store. Some of the great John Philip Sousa marches had been used in 4th of July celebrations for years...especially during fireworks shows. "The Stars and Stripes Forever" will bring customers in...as well as "Semper Fidelis." DVD of fireworks are important because fireworks are usually one-use items...except of course, cakes and repeater mortar shells. People want to see how such things like a helicopter or a snake or a booby-trap or a bombette works. Just be sure that you are not selling the M-stuff. They are illegal in all states. You know, M-80s, M-1000s, quarter sticks, and even some of the M-80s that seem legal.

The store we go to for fireworks makes all their customers feel appreciated for a few reasons. When one walks in the door they are greeted warmly and offered a soda. The owners of the store regularly try out the fireworks before they get their seal of approval so when a customer asks about a certain product the clerk can give an informed answer. Also, depending on how much one spends, they are given a gift...the bigger the bill, the bigger the bang! For example, we bought a few $80.00 cakes, some Excalibur, and the usual assortment of saturn missiles and such. The bill came to about $400.00 and wouldn't you know, those nice folks gave us not one but 2 cakes as a gift! Better believe we are repeat customers year after year! yea, buy fire hot candies and give them out to each person who buys fire works. Pop a balloon each time you sell an item. sell snow balls. Play firecracker...the 80's song. It goes something like this.....It starts off with the fireworks then it goes...firecracker come dance for me. I just like to see the way you move...etc It will get the crowd jumping.
