A work permit gives someone under the age of 18 permission to work. Some states require that you get one before you start employment and others require that the employer obtain it. Child labor laws still govern anyone working under 18. They set the amount of hours you can work while in school and during the summer. This program is run by the government. Usually you obtain them from the principals office or your guidance office at your school. Most fast food places will hire under 16, a busser at a restaurant, camp counselor or helper, try the YMCA, stockers at a local grocery store. Try the food stands at the mall. Hope it helps, good luck.
