What is a marketing interviewer?

Interviewer ?: Convince me your consulting job won't interfere w/ your current application. Response?

  • I currently own a marketing consulting co. of 7 yrs. An interviewer was concerned that my consulting job would interfere with the Marketing Associate job I was applying for. She asked ...show more

  • Answer:

A Marketing Associate is a low level marketing job and it pays accordingly. So if you own a Marketing Consulting firm for 7 years, why would you be looking for a low level marketing position??? Add'l info: What that answer says is you are planning to close your consulting firm - which is not the case or your original question would be non-existent As a self employed individual, having "benefits" is not a reason to work for a company. As a business owner, as an SP your benefits are a 50% write off (as a Corp they would be 100% a write off), you can select business that you want / not that a company had decided for you, and if your pre-existing condition is the problem, that goes away in 5 months... = benefits are not a reason to take an internal position...

The first think the interviewer will be thinking is if you are that good at marketing and applying for the marketing associate job will you be any good because you don't seem to have done well with your own marketing business? Tell them your own business is being put on hold or possibly work on it during the weekend, Good Luck
