There is no limit. The only limits would be on the rate charged. For example, let's say you hire a family attorney. He tries to bill you at a rate of $800 per hour for his services. But other family attorneys in the area with comprable experience charge $500 per hour. The attorney's rates must be in line with the others. Now these days, you do find high power attys representing celebrities like Kobe Bryant whose fees are much higher. And this makes it more acceptable for other attys to raise their rates.
