However if you are employed in the United States, I beleive the term is: "At Will" Employment, meaning that you are under no contractual obligation to remain with your employer beyond what you desire, and they are similarly free to terminate your employment when your services are no longer required. The best thing to do is to just ask to speak to the Human Resources manager and explain your situation and they can usually work things out from there. If you don't have an HR manager, the store or assistant manager usually handles such things.
