As the other poster said, leave out all the gory detail, and keep it positive. You could simply state that you were assigned a task that was beyond your education and expertise and although you tried to rise to the challenge for x amount of time, the company decided to replace you with a person of a different skill-set to solve the problem. Just be positive, but don't give too much detail, because then it might sound like you are trying to make excuses (which you aren't). Good Luck!
