  • Answer:

An RN is a registered nurse, which means the person has passed the state nursing test and met all the other qualifications. It is NOT a degree. To take the test, you have to have completed either a bachelor's degree or an associates degree in nursing.

A registered nurse is a designation you receive from the state after you pass specific testing. To get this, you can do a university course (4 years school) with a bachelors of science in nursing (BSN) or an associates degree in nursing (ADN). Which way you decide is your choice.

not necessarily. you get a BSN only after you meet all the requirements for that, which may well be MORE than to to become an RN. RN is a professional license designation and is issued by the state, while BSN [or BA] is issued by the college or university. talk with the admissions counselor -- it's her job to know how to do both as same time

You already have the two-year degree--when you become an RN you'll have a FOUR year degree, which is a bachelor's degree. You won't have two AAs.
