It is a fabulous career. The money is decent, most new graduate nurses make between $21-30/hour. You will have no trouble finding a job, which is a big deal in today's economy. The best thing about nursing is that there are opportunities for advancement. You can go to graduate school and be a practitioner, anesthetist, educator, manager, doctorate, etc. The second best thing is that there are so many fields available to prevent burnout. You can deliver babies, work with Hospice and do home health, work for insurance companies, be a flight nurse, school nurse, psych, etc. etc.
