  • Answer:

To become a nurse, you must pass a state licensing exam, study nursing specifically and have the school verify that you had clinical practice. To go to medical school you will need to take so many science courses -- most students major in pre-med -- you will not have time to major in nursing. To work while in medical school you should think about working on campus, or find some other way to use your undergraduate education. Read the websites for medical schools you're considering and see what information they have about finding jobs.

There is really no way for you to work as an RN while you are in med school. That will be all consuming. You will also have to take more pre-med reqs than required for nursing school; so you may be doing extra work that is really not necessary. You would be better of just doing a pre-med curricula and working at something part time in college. You might want to discuss all this with the pre-med counselor at the college you attend, they might be able to guide you into some solutions.
