Do I have to attend medical school in order to become a medical technologist?
-
I know some people who become on straight off of college, but I'm doubtful because don't all careers in the medical field see medical school some time?
-
Answer:
To work in the lab you can either become an MLT with an associates degree (with cerfication) Or you can get a bachelors of science in Medical Technology and become certified also to do similar work. It's not "medical school" like doctors go to for years and years but some of the classes are very similar.

If you mean creating technology for medical uses then no you'd go to college for that, or if you mean fixing medical technology then the same thing, medical school is for docters and nurses, not technicians.
