Should I become medical assistant or practical nurse?

How long does it take to become a nurse or a medical assistant?

  • I'd like to become a registered nurse or even a medical assistant, but I don't have much time(18months or so). Can anyone tell me if this is possible?

  • Answer:

RN is 2-4 years, but pays a lot more. Here's an email I just received. I am in the health care field. If you know of anyone between 18-28 years old, interested in the Nursing field, University of the District of Columbia (UDC) is offering FREE tuition, FREE books, a $250 monthly stipend, and guaranteed job placement as a nurse at Providence Hospital upon graduation (it's a 3 year program) with a starting salary of $40,000. The program is recruiting new students now!! Please contact Ms. Beshon Smith (202) 266-5481 or email [email protected]

if u don't have any medical experience before, medical assistant is right for u. then if u in future wants to become RN it'll be easier for u cuz injections and other stuff. Medical Assistant is 8-12 months depending the school MA salary is 13-25 hour.

You could probably do medical assisting in that time. For a RN degree is about 4 years not including prerequistes.
