How much do surg tech's make starting out? How much do they make later on?

It really does depend on where you live and if you have a certificate or an associates degree. I have my associates degree in surgical technology and I was making close to 13.oo an hour. When I was "on call" I was making around 20.00 an hour when I was called in. You do get a little pay for the hours that you are scheduled for "on call" but don't go in. I was getting 2.oo an hour just for being scheduled. There really is no room to move up in the field and make more money except for the pay raises that you get in the long run and if you are willing to go back to school and get your bachelors in surgical technology. I do know that certain states pay very well and if you signed up with a company as a traveling surgical technician you would get paid more. You have to enjoy the job though because you will sometimes feel like you give too much of yourself and are not getting paid enough. I hope this was helpful!
