  • Answer:

Well, are you comfortable around computers? I don't mean just using Windows or MacOS, but messing around with the programs applications that come in the operating system and meant to manage the computer. Are you interested in how computers work in terms of programming and logic? Are you interested in programming at all? If you think any of the things that I've mentioned are interesting, computer science may be the right major for you. I'm actually an electrical engineer but due to my industry I have to program in C, C++, verilog, VHDL and PERL (I try to stay away from assembly). At first I hated programming, once I was able to write programs (that worked) things seemed to be more interesting since the programs were meant to make my job easier. I'm not sure if you will enjoy only programming, what you could do is enroll in a junior college and take one or two programming courses and see how it goes. Most people get into computer science because: a) They love computers and eventually got into programming b) They love videogames and want to work as game developers (usually they change majors when they realize that CS isn't that easy) This doesn't mean that you can't get into CS if you are not in these two groups.
