Is being a EMT a government job?

I know being a Firemen is a government job and they have EMT training. So is being a EMT and a paramedic a government job?

A fireman and an EMT are LOCAL government jobs, as opposed to State of Federal government jobs. The local government pays for these services through their taxes from property owners. Hospitals also hire EMT's and that would not be a government job, also there are private ambulance services that employe EMT's and those would not be government jobs, either. I hope this helps you.
