What's with the English accent of Delhi people, especially girls? Why does it sound so weird?

Since the very day I started my graduation in Delhi, I've been observing people of Delhi uttering a different yet weird English accent. Since many people in my knowledge who have been to Delhi mentioned about this problem of accent manipulation quite a few times, my years alarms me themselves to such an English. Probably this is some sort of amalgamation of a few things Delhi people yearn to manifest whenever and wherever they sniff a chance. Those things, probably are- 1) they might want to show their English speaking skills. 2) Hollywood movies' accent fascinates the youths and they feel like brad Pitt or Scarlett Johansson while spitting out the English. 3) it makes them look stylish and perhaps cool to their eyes if not to someone else's. 4) I don't know why but they are proud to call themselves as delhiwallas (belonging to Delhi). I don't vilify those who adopt such accent without any intention of displaying the above mentioned the so-called coolness quotients but those who are proud to show it off. And if someone who is not a native of Delhi but still is an accomplice in promoting this kind of English or the accent is said to have been struck by the Delhi air or ( dilli ki hawa lag gyi). ;) And to add to Mr. Sharma's answer here are sone more transformed words: Kewl (cool) Osssome (awesome) Meyaaan (man) Frnzzzzzzzz (friends), seems like they have drooping friends.

Well, I guess some of the words stem from more anglicized enunciation - photography is not fo-to-graph-eee but pha-ta-grafi. As far as the 'na' addition goes (along with 'no?' after every statement),  that's not 'DPS' english. That's pretty much any somewhat irritating girl in India has in her diction these days. It's not a regional issue. Just the Indian bastardization of the English language. And if you're new to Delhi, meet more people before jumping to conclusions and/or stereotypes. Good day, friend.

Why this perverse obsession with accent? For the majority in India, English is their 3rd or 4th language. As long as one can communicate one's thoughts properly, it's alright with me. Accents do not bother me, be it genuine or put on. It's a shame that it's even an issue.

There is an impact of the Delhi Hindi on their English accent. I have a friend who talks like that. They're really confident about their accent. You know, it's like... they're trying to talk like one of the chicks in Hollywood movies but end up speaking the so called Hinglish (Hindi+English) I loathe that accent.
