Yes I would agree nursing is a good / solid choice and will be needed in the future. The only other option I see for you is to go to work in a large corporation at any position for any salary. Use the free tuition reimbursement for college. Get into an accelerated 4 year one that can be done for adults with busy schedules. Work hard for 2 1/2 or 3 years and have the Bachelor Degree. If you want to take out a loan for the two years too , I would do so . You can use the money to buy someone to clean your house / grocery shop for you / do not do your laundry. Your time is needed for your full time job and accelerated full time college study. You may need to buy some time with tutors to make your life easier. Pay someone to type / proofread your work. Take small weekend breaks 2 X per year for vacations. You need rewards to get you through it. Buy the edges you need to get through it. Be wise with your money / best to to accumulate to much debt. but spend what needs to be spent so you accomplish your goals. Stack the deck. You may want MBA or you may want to quit then and get promoted in your same company. Or both , depending on what you can handle. Abililty / how many edges you are buying for yourself. Best of luck to you.

You can get an Associate Degree in APPLIED SCIENCE NURSING, RN DEGREE, ( there is also one year as LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE and could go on to become RN later) and tell all your friends who are so inclined to do so also. OF course, the field needs people who are dedicated to and are willing to make sacrifices for the good of the clients/patients. IT is a caring profession that takes knowledge and skills but can be very rewarding, both personally, and financially. ( most employers starting pay is in the $17 an hour range and the pay scale goes up drastically in the first 5 years up to $25-$28 an hour)...and the more experience and credentials you have the more money you can make. ( FIELD IS wide open for Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Anesthesiology, etc....) but the RN FIELD itself has so many diverse areas you can work in, or specialize in if so inclined, whatever interests you, PEDIATRICS< SURGERY< ER<GERIATRICS< GYNECOLOGY< CARDIOLOGY< NEUROLOGY< ORTHOPEDICS< on and on...The only problem is that it is competitive to get into the NURSING PROGRAMS because there not only is a NURSING shortage but there is a shortage of NURSING EDUCATORS for many reasons, but the main one is that being a teacher usually requires a BSN or MASTERS and many nurses who have been working stay in the hospitals or the clinics, etc....because the TEACHERS do not get paid competitively. IF the RN has a higher degree, they can make more money in a management position rather than teach. If you can't get accepted right away you can get your prerequisites done and over with first. A lot of Community Colleges have excellent programs that are putting out RN's with ASSOCIATE DEGREES. By the year 2020 it is predicted that we will be 1,000,000 nurses short in this country, and who will take care of the baby boomers and the aging population. Unfortunately, people will always have illnesses and accidents and need nurses, that makes it a very stable job field and there are so many different options you can do as a licensed RN professional. People are also SICKER nowadays, living longer with chronic illnesses, so WE NEED MORE NURSES to make it safer in HEALTHCARE. You can get information online by looking up RN, NURSING, HEALTHCARE<any related websearch, and check into the local colleges, hospitals, and Universities. There are also sites you can get your RN degree atleast partially online....SOMETHING to think about, but only do it if you feel you are a caring person who can have empathy for others and a ready to help attitude, not just with the patients, but with your coworkers. IT can be stressful at times, but is very rewarding, always open positions with many many job opportunities.....GOOD LUCK!
