How do you get an office/receptionist job with no experience?

    Look on craigslist.com if you live in california. They have all kinds of admin/office jobs. If it says receptionist position, look at the ad. Often times, it is entry level. If you can speak well, answer phones and be a good employee, you should get the job. Also, mention the qualities that you have proven at your previous jobs as aspects that can contribute to a job as a good receptionists. Example: you have great customer service skills, listening skills and speaking skills as proven in your job as a waitress and cashier. Also, if you are not that familiar with computers, take a computer course of some kind at a community college or career center. That will look good on your resume and add to your skill set. can you type? you already have customer service experience.....so thats a good thing..alot of office jobs dont really require much...just that you can type and have good customer service skills/experience.. good luck

Look at the ads, Go to www.ask.com and research the type of business you are applying at, answer the ads, have confidence IN YOU, have a good attitude and let them know you are willing to work hard (unless you're not, then don't apply, LOL). You can obviously already type. I'll bet you can answer a phone and learn a short script. With a receptionist, they want a people person that will welcome folks to their office...That's how I got my start and I just more or less quit a job that I worked with 4.4 mil a month in sales....You have to believe that you can do it. That's the very first step. (Dress appropriately for all of society also - G rated, LOL)
