How to get sponsored surfing?

Im 13 and I live in Ventura so we practically surf the same spots. For the waves were around you really need to pump and get going fast since the waves are really small most of the year and soon you'll be flying. The future of surfing how I think it will happen is it will be crazy combos like A Tube Ride to an Air then straight into a Cutback. So you'll need to be well rounded. And like the other guy said when you get into High School join their surf team. ill probably surf against you soon. And if your ever at the beach and you see someone like Dane Reynolds, The Malloys, The Currens or Bobby Martinez just ask them for some more tips.

Contests are one way to get yourself and your name out there as the other guys have said. A new approach that many surfers are taking is the self-promotion route where you get someone to film you, edit the footage with some cool music and post it on your own blog or website. Get started now because it takes a long time to get all of that stuff right (filming, editing, etc.). If you end up producing a good product then some sponsors might start offering you boards and clothing. If its money you want then you have to be the best.
