  well there are only two models of the PSP to my knowledge. i do notice that you put "lites" in there. just to clarify that there is a DS LITE which is made by NINTENDO. a different console then the PSP which is made by SONY. It would very depend on the "brat's" age. with younger children i would usually suggest the NINTENDO DS LITE. especially if it is a girl. cheaper and more durable. On the other hand if you are looking around the 15 year old range i would go with the SONY PSP. there are different models and the only difference is the color of the actual console and the contents that make up the screen. the newer model is more scratch resistant and reflects UV rays so the game can actually be played in higher levels of light such as outdoors. I would suggest going to SONY (http://www.us.playstation.com/PSP/Features) and NINTENDO (www.nintendo.com )website and check that it has the features that YOU want and not the features that someone else likes that might be trying to sell you that product.
