  Not WWII but brilliant strategy game Empire Earth, there is also 2 & 3 available now but i still play the original, picked up for a bargin of a £5 Basically you start of as cavemen throwing rocks & spears at each other, & travel through the time scale to Digital warfare of Laser flying robots Giant Mecha Robots Civilization is another starting the same but this one sticks more to real basis, you research certain things leading to other techs - so you learn about iron casting & you build swordsman, you reasearch riding after that & it gives you the abilty to swordsman on horse's, the whgeel will let you build Chariots, Civaliztion 4 is onlne as well loads of people play so it gives a good laugh
