I have done this before, to transfer your contacts from your old account press 'contacts' in the main messenger window, then 'save instant mesaaging contacts'. Save it somewhere that you can find it Then sign into the new account and press contacts menu again, but this time you will go import, and then go find where you saved the contact list, select it then press 'import' or 'open'.
