If I upgrade Windows Live Messenger, will I still have all my contacts?

It's saved on MSN servers not your computer, so yes it will be there.

your contacts aren't saved to your computer, they're saved to the windows messenger database. So, using your email on a different computer, or installing a newer version won't affect any of your contacts or setup options.
