Will Google Maps or Google Earth ever update their image database?

I mean, some of my favourite places are clouded with, well, cloud. Will they update it? Anytime soon?

They update areas over a few years - mostly 2 years they will update it. If you live in rural areas, you might forget it. Their priority is urban/big cities.
