What is the nature of dendrothermal energy?

If we model our eating as a chemical process as follows: X(food) + Y(human body) = Energy, which of the fundamental forces in nature can be responsible bringing the reactants of such a reaction together?

  • It's said that evolution factored molecules to come together and form smarter systems which resulted in better biological functionalities. Looking through the window of molecular biology, we've always seen reactions and molecular associations borne out of one of the fundamental forces of nature (Electrical Force, Magnetic Force, etc.). On the other hand, it seems totally alien that a molecular system as complex as a human being would approach his food and eat it merely on the basis of signalling mechanisms within the brain without any apparent attraction between the food and a human body. Such reactions or associations (a man approaching his food and eating it) have apparently no involvement of the natural forces in nature, but yet happen all the time. The very idea of the existence of such force-free associations fascinates me. Any thoughts for the same ?

  • Answer:

Digestion, smell, and taste operate consist pretty much entirely of electrostatic interactions. Most of chemistry does.
