Aircel network doesn't give full 3.6mbps speed in 3g,only gives a maximum of 200kbps...Why?

I use Aircel Network, When I recharge internet card of Rs.18, According to the plan,200mb data can be downloaded in 3g speed(ie - 3.6mbps) and then it'll be reduced to 128kbps ...show more

It's the BIT and the BYTE thing... 1 BYTE = 8 BITS So wen they Promise you 3.6 Mbps, its 3.6 Mega BITS per second... And while Using it's in BYTES... So divide the actual speed by 8 and you get the answer... i.e. 3.6 / 8 = Your Approx Download Speed... And your Download Speed may Vary due to Network Conditions... Similarly 128 / 8 = approx around 16-20 kilo bytes per sec download speed... Hope you get the Concept.. :)
