How do I get yellow stains out of my laundry?

Sometimes i get a bunch of orange stains on my clothes after laundry.can anyone tell me what causes this?

    it's iron in your water, be sure you have plenty of salt in your softener. avoid doing whites until it cycles it's self. i have this problem too. i use morton's iron out salt, works very well!

if your washer is old, it is rust stains. use less bleach. like a half cup and a cup of white vinegar in your wash it will brighten them. go to vinegartips.com

I know you said "besides bleach", but you should maybe make sure theres no bleach in your detergent? Because sometimes they have bleach added for your whites. So if you use it with your darks, well.. Im sorry :) I know you said besides bleach. I just thought i'd mention this, just in case. Its really the only thing I can see. Or rust, like someone else mentionned.
