NO! Snowboarding boots are specifically for snowboarding. I cant stand wearing them from the ski lodge to my car, there so uncomfortable... never mind all day long. Go to walmart, or taget. They have hundreds of pairs of snowboots for kids under $20... infact, thats about all any store carries for childrens footware this time of year...lol!

Unless he is going to actually be snowboarding, go with regular snow boots. As stated above, snowboard boots will be heavier, due the more solid construction that these boots require. They will also be very stiff, because they are designed to transfer energy effectively from your foot, through the boot, to the edges of the snowboard. They will also be angled a bit, leaning toward the toe. This keeps the foot in proper snowboarding position. He will be much more comfortable with regular boots, and you will not have to spend near as much money.
