What type of snowboard should I get?

  • I went to Burton.com and went to see what the best board would be for me. I'm... Male 5'10 180lb. Burton told me the best results for what snowboard I should get ...show more

  • Answer:

Burton is not a good brand. If you want the best quality in a board, buy a Gnu or a Lib-Tech. You only need a wide board if you wear a size 12 or larger shoe. The only shaped boards in snowboarding are racing boards--they only have one nose and are flat in the tail. The length of the board depends on your ability and the part of the mountain you ride on. Longer boards are usually faster but harder to control.

ok so basically a bigger board would be great because the most surface area on the bottom of the board would mean more stability if you like going fast. And a 158-161 size board sounds good. I have a 156 and im an inch taller and 5 lbs lighter and my board is perfect. Since youre not doing tricks too much either looks like you can get away with a wider board. flex is the boards flexibility. Since you said you wont be doing much tricks... a board that is stiffer is best because it is more stable. Some other brands of snowboards would be Forum (my personal favorite), i have heard from numerous riders that O-Matic boards are awesome, DC, K2, Rome are also good brands i have heard about. But Burton is also good. Happy choosing!!!
