Sadly I don't think there is much that can be done. I think this starts with a virus? Phil Collins has this and his started, they think, with a virus. He's had to learn to live with it but it's very sad. You could have a word with your GP in case, with you, there is something to be done. Hope so because I can't imagine what it must be like!!
