Some of the sites like blogger are ok. If you want to have total control, especially when it comes to search engine optimization, I would recommend that you find a web host provider, buy a domain name, and install Wordpress to create your blog. I have several blogs at Blogger.com and find ithe platform very easy to use. The special benefit is that Google owns Blogger, so your blog will get a good listing in the search engines when people are looking for your keywords... Good luck!
